Sometimes a rare frame collection comes along that creates a nod to nostalgia and an effortlessly cool ambience of it's own. Vinylize is art, technology and music history combined. Launching this month exclusive to Concept Eye Clinic in Gosforth and Tynemouth - as the only stockists in the North East of England, Vinylize is a tribute to music legends.

Handmade in Budapest and first created ten years ago from re-mastered vinyl records, these durable frames embody the artistry and spirit of the godfathers of sound. From the coveted edition celebrating Pink Floyd to the Bob Marley 70th birthday anniversary homage in Rastafarian colours.

The use of vintage Italian acetate is a key element that makes a Vinylize frame so special, making the eyewear hypoallergenic, thermoformable and of course, beautifully colourful. Riveted 5 barrel hinges hold the temples together and each frame is custom built, laser engraved and individually hand polished.

Vinylize is cleverly compatible with prescription lenses with sunglasses featuring Zeiss lenses as standard! Your frame is presented in a case crafted from a 7” single. Simply stunning!

In a year that saw the Wombles storm through the pop charts to help keep Britain tidy, my first 45” was an embarrassing anomaly. The second, a surreal track by Lena Lovitch ‘My Lucky Number’ was played relentlessly until it was scratched to smithereens. With lashings of eye liner and theatrical long tresses, Lena was my fashion idol. Everything changed when a shy girl from London paid tribute to the tragedy of Wuthering Heights. Kate Bush was the true beginning of my vinyl obsession… Shehla
